The Department of Family Medicine focuses not on a single disease, but on caring for the whole person. We provide comprehensive care for a wide range of health concerns, regardless of age, gender, or type of illness. Our care extends beyond the treatment of disease to prevention, health promotion, and the long-term management of chronic conditions, supporting our patients throughout their health journey.
We provide comprehensive obesity management as well as care for chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemia. We also provide ongoing management of abnormal findings identified during health checkups. In addition, we support healthier lifestyles through vaccinations, smoking cessation counseling, nutrition, and physical activity. For patients experiencing multiple symptoms or those who are unsure which specialty to visit, we assess their overall health, recommend an appropriate course of treatment, and coordinate closely with other specialty departments when necessary.
Our care goes beyond simply treating symptoms or abnormal test results. We consider the many factors that influence health, including nutrition, sleep, physical activity, stress, body composition, and metabolic health. By carefully exploring the individual causes and circumstances behind each patient’s health concerns, we provide personalized care incorporating lifestyle and nutritional approaches to help restore balance and promote lasting, positive changes in health.
At the Department of Family Medicine, Jeonbuk National University Hospital, we aim to provide care that is there for you not only when you are ill, but also when you are well. By staying close to our patients and their families throughout every stage of health, we strive to be a trusted, long-term healthcare partner—caring not only for disease, but also for the person and the life behind it.
